
Mare Requirements
The mare shall be healthy and in sound breeding condition when delivered to ThoroLee Painted Farm, Inc. for breeding. The mare shall be halter broken and manageable and will have the hind shoes removed. In the event that the mare is deemed unmanageable, dangerous to humans or the stallion, or unfit for breeding, ThoroLee Painted Farm, Inc. reserves the right to refuse to breed the mare and is not obligated to refund the booking deposit.
Requirements Before Arrival
Approved Mares Only ~ Pictures or Video.
Veterinary Statement of clean uterine cytology and culture if indicated (including maiden mares).
Negative coggins.
Vaccinated at least one month prior to arrival.
Dewormed between one to four months prior to arrival.
Copy of registration papers (if applicable).
Rear shoes removed.
Mares will be accepted for breeding between the months of February through July 15.
It should be determined what stage the mare is in her heat cycle prior to arrival, either by charting observations or by veterinary palpitation.
It is preferable to bring mare in for service one or two days before her heat cycle begins.
It should be noted if a mare is known to have a short cycle (one or two days) or has "silent heats."
